Springtails

What are Springtails?

Springtails are love moisture and darkness, so you’re likely to see them in places like your basement or a damp garage. They’re called Springtails because of their ability to spring into the air.

What do Springtails look like?

Springtails are tiny, with the largest of them measuring just ⅛” in size. They have 6 legs and are usually gray in color.

Are Springtails dangerous?

Springtails are not dangerous to humans or pets; they’re considered more of a nuisance. When in their outdoor habitat, they’re considered a beneficial insect.

What are the signs of a Springtails infestation?

The only sign of a Springtail infestation is to see a large number of Springtails in one place (usually your basement, bathroom, crawl space, or garage).

Where did the Springtails come from?

If you have Springtails in your home, it is usually because the weather is dry outdoors and they are looking for a moist place to live. Springtails can not live without moisture.
